

Janet Miller Bishop Little born on July 2, 1939, of Vestavia Hills, passed away on May 25, 2022 at 82 years old. She was born in Birmingham and graduated from Woodlawn High School. She received an education and music degree from Samford University.
She was an active member of Dawson Memorial Baptist Church for over 55 years and served on the staff for more than 20 years. She was Associate Minister Of Music and directed children’s choirs, senior adult choirs, and several hand bell groups. She was the first director of the “Dawsonaires” and directed the special needs choir known as the “Happy Singers.” One of her favorite memories was attending the chapel choir tours, mission trips, and summer camps.
She was a devoted wife and mother to her children, and sincerely enjoyed being a “Nana” to her six grandchildren. She cared deeply for her grandchildren by attending ball games, dance recitals, school functions and much more. In her spare time, she taught piano and voice lessons while accompanying dance lessons at the Children’s Dance Foundation. Throughout her life, she ministered to hundreds of children and young adults through her passion of serving others and love of music.
She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, John Thomas Little. She was survived by her two daughters Melanie Little Horta and Juleigh Little Green married to Corey Green, and her six grandchildren: Lucas Alexander Horta, Caroline Elizabeth Green, Alexandria Elise Horta, Joshua Caleb Horta, Margaret Ann Green, and Luisa Carole Horta.
The family will receive friends at eleven o'clock AM on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church in the sanctuary with a service following at twelve o'clock PM.
