

Mr. John D. Faulk (Johnny, Pappalo, Poppit), age 84, of Hoover, Alabama, died at home November 5, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Johnny served in the Alabama Air National Guard and was called to active duty during the Korean War where he served stateside. He attended Castle Heights Military Academy in Lebanon, TN, Phillips High School in Birmingham, AL, and The University of Alabama. Mr. Faulk was preceded in death by his parents, John D. Faulk, Sr. and Archie Yancey. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary Frances Rubino Faulk, his sons Johnny, Mickey, Barry, Billy, Quinton, and Jamie Faulk, his daughter Danielle Pears, daughter-in-law Christy Faulk (Jamie), and his 15 grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren. He loved his family, was an avid golfer all of his life and he had a passion for all horse racing and loved going to the Kentucky Derby. Last, but not least, he adored his two dogs Molly and Sam. The funeral service will be held on Monday November 9, 2015 at 1:00 PMat the Johns-Ridout’s Valley Chapel in Homewood. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at 2:45 PM at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to St. Vincent’s Hospice Care.
