Mr. John V. (Jack) Manning age 91 of Birmingham passed away Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015 at his residence. A private service was held at 2:00 PM Saturday, Feb. 28th, 2015 at Mountain Brook Baptist Church with Dr. Doug Dortch officiating. Mr. Manning was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving during World War II. He spent 41 years with the Bell System including AT&T, Southern Bell & South Central Bell and retiring as VP Engineering & Network Planning for BellSouth.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Jean. Surviving children are Linda Denham and husband Frank, Elena Smith and husband Kevin and John Manning and wife Pam, 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
