

John Edward Sanderson July 15, 1931- June 5, 2015 Mr. John Edward Sanderson, a lifelong resident of Tarrant, AL, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, June 5, 2015, at the age of 83. He was the lifeblood of his family, who was his greatest joy. John worked at the Birmingham News for 35 years before retiring as press room foreman. He was a member of Dawson Memorial Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Dolcito Masonic Lodge 596. For many of his retired years he spent time perfecting his woodwork as a skilled craftsman, and was a devoted fan of the Birmingham Barons. He lived a full, happy life. His infectious smile will be sorely missed and his memories will live on in those who knew and loved him. He was a beloved husband, an adored father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle. He is survived by the love of his life, Ellen Alldredge Sanderson of 64 years; his two daughters, Karen Sanderson Keith (Bill) and Lynn Sanderson Hasenfuss (Ron); his two grandchildren, Holly Black (Jason) and Clay Hasenfuss, two great-grand children Evie Black and John Baker Black; his sisters-in-law, Vera Sanderson, Dorothy Sanderson and Barbara Boaz; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Sanderson (Della) and three brothers and two sisters. The family will receive friends Sunday, June 7, 2015, from 5-7 p.m. at Rideout's Valley Chapel in Homewood. The funeral service will be Monday, June 8 at Ridout's Valley Chapel at 11 a.m. with a graveside service to follow.
