Julia Margaret (Peggy) Parks

Mrs. Julia (Peggy) Penton Parks passed away on July 12, 2015 in Birmingham AL at the age of 82. Mrs. Parks was born on July 4, 1933 to William Leslie and Julia Margaret Penton, and she graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1952. She attended Auburn University and graduated in 1956 with a degree in Family Life and Nursery Education. While at Auburn, she met and later married her husband of 48 years, Mr. Billy Wren Parks, who preceded her in death. Survivors include her daughter Marjorie Parks McClenny (Brent); and her two sons, William Kirby Parks (Karen) and Robert Lawrence Parks (Sharon). She was very proud of her granddaughters Sarah Marie Parks Thigpen (Allen) and Leslie C. McClenny; and her grandsons William M. Parks (Anna), Stewart K. Parks, and Jacob C. Parks. Great grandchildren are Benjamin Thigpen and Ellie Wren Parks.

Mrs. Parks “Celebration of Life” Visitation will be held in Ridout’s Valley Chapel in Homewood, AL on Saturday, July 18, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
