Kathy was a brown-eyed beauty with a smile that could light up a room. Known for her great love of conversation and engaging sense of humor, she was always the life of the party. Thoughtful and intelligent, Kathy could debate with the best of us.
Kathy was born in Birmingham, AL, and spent most of her childhood growing up in Destin, Florida. She graduated from Fort Walton Beach High School, where she made many life-long friends that she has remained close to even as an adult. After high school she attended and graduated from The University of South Alabama where she pledged Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. She went on to earn her MBA as well as a law degree from Birmingham School of Law and worked in the legal field for many years.
Some of Kathy’s favorite things were her Greek heritage and being a member of The Greek Orthodox Church, Auburn, and The Dave Matthews Band. She loved her family and loved to travel. Prior to becoming a mother she traveled extensively throughout the United States and Europe.
Kathy was blessed with a close relationship with her younger sister, Stacey. They were a pair that brought laughter with them, growing into adulthood together and sharing a wonderful bond of sisterhood. Kathy and Stacey's camaraderie was infectious, and the house they shared after college in Birmingham became a gathering point for friends and family alike.
Motherhood was Kathy's greatest pride and biggest accomplishment. The last 14 years of her life were devoted to her precious daughter Cami, who was the apple of her eye and her source of joy. There was nothing more important in life to Kathy than her daughter, as anyone who knew her can attest.
Kathy is preceded in death by her father, Dino Jebeles, her stepfather Dunn Johnson, her grandparents Vic and Ernestine Costellos and Nick and Katherine Jebeles. She is survived by her mother, Maria C. Johnson, her sister Stacey Collins (Anderson), her brother Jeremy Johnson (Meredith), nephew George Collins and niece Callie Johnson. She leaves behind the love of her life, Cami, to carry on her beautiful smile.
