Marjorie “Dana” Chapman Dortch, age 50 of Birmingham, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2013. Dana was a graduate of Ensley High School and Auburn University. She was a lifelong Presbyterian and a current member of Southminster Presbyterian Church.
Dana was preceded in death by her father: William E. Chapman and her grandparents: C.T and Marjorie Crooks. She is survived by her husband: Glenn Dortch; daughter: Claire Dortch; mother: Mildred Chapman; Aunt: Shari Sadler (Jack); uncle: Tommy Crooks (Kaye); brother in law: Steve Dortch (Alice), 2 nephews and several cousins.
Dana’s family would like to give their thanks to Dr. James Cantrell, Dr. Neal Daniel,
Dr. Sally Salter and the nursing staff of St. Vincent’s 4 South Oncology for their loving care.
The family will receive friends at Ridout’s Valley Chapel on Wednesday, December 11th from 5:00 to 7:00p.m. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 12th at Southminster Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Dana Dortch may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation or charity of your choice.
