Misty had a nurturing spirit from the very beginning. Even as a child, her maternal instincts shown through she often treated her little brother like he was her very own baby. That deep sense of care and compassion never left her. Throughout her life, Misty gave selflessly to others, always putting their needs ahead of her own. If she saw someone hungry, she didn’t hesitate – she bought them a meal. Misty was known to pick up strangers, offering them a ride wherever they needed to go, simply because she couldn’t bear to see anyone left behind. She would give her last dime to someone in need, never expecting anything in return. Her generosity knew no bounds, and her heart was always open.
Misty was a volunteer for Hope Heals Camps, INTERFAITH MINISTRIES of Calhoun County and a driver for Meals on Wheels of Calhoun County.
Misty’s greatest gift was being a mother. On a Mother’s Day post, May 9, 2021, Misty wrote this for her girls:
To my girls: It was a horrific journey to get you 3 here—around 12 years of trying. Infertility that included shots, procedures, medicines, a million appointments, & TONS of emotions—worry, stress, depression, anxiety, you name it, and 5 miscarriages 5 angel babies I’ll walk the heavens with after I hold your hands and walk the earth with you. It is not lost on me what absolute divine MIRACLES you are, Anna Harrison, Mary Lib, and Virginia. You each were worth the wait and the struggle, and I will endure a different wait & struggle to be with you again. You are the very best gift I could have prayed for, and YOU ARE PROOF OUR GOD IS MIGHTY & FAITHFUL. My love for you 3 is above any love I could have ever imagined. I thank God every day I get to hear you call me “Mommy.” I love you, my babies.
Misty loved the Lord deeply and served Him faithfully throughout her life. Her unwavering faith and compassionate spirit were a blessing to everyone who knew her. Misty was a member of Church of the Highlands.
