

Polly was born in Old Town, Maine on December 31, 1928 and passed away on January 31, 2026. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Helen (Kowalski) Szulinski, brother Peter, sister Sophie Croft, sister Ann Bouchard, her first husband Donald Henderson and her second husband, William Kelly. She is survived by her sons Donald, Jr. (Ruth), Eugene and Edward (Christine), her grandchildren, John, Kathryn (Peter), Edward, Jr. (Amanda), Melinda Henderson-Lloyd (Graham Lloyd) and Evan ( Jessy) and her great-grandchildren, Riley Henderson and Henry Lloyd. She grew up on a working farm in Old Town. She graduated from Old Town High School and Beauty Culture School in Bangor Maine. She moved to Birmingham, Alabama in 1947 and was married to Donald Henderson in 1948. Following Don’s death in 1985 she was married to Bill in 1991.
Polly devoted her life to her family, home and various hobbies and crafts. She also enjoyed gardening, square dancing, round dancing, bridge and traveling. She was a warm and caring person and a loyal and loving friend to many whom she met over her long life. She was a life-long practicing Catholic and a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Homewood, Alabama for more than 65 years.
