

Born on September 14, 1938, in Vernon, Alabama, he was the son of the late Floyd Jackson Bradley and Ruth Maddox Bradley. Robert spent his childhood in Tarrant, Alabama and graduated from Tarrant City High School in 1956. He earned his degree from Howard College (now Samford University) and then entered the military on October 1, 1961, serving as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force.
Robert adored his family and was very involved in the community serving in different capacities on boards and in organizations. He was a member of the Data Processing Management Association, The Birmingham Large Users Group, and the Downtown Rotary Club. He also served as a Loaned Executive for United Way. In addition, he was a board member of PACT (Prepaid Alabama College Tuition) and a proud member of the Tarrant City Cedar House Liar’s Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Joyce Goodwin Bradley, and is survived by his three children: Sara Bradley Eddings (Hal), Carole Bradley Glenn (Bruce), and Jeffrey Robert Bradley (TJ). He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Isabelle Eddings Easterday (Evan), Harrison Isaac Eddings (Ellie), William Isaiah Eddings, Christin Mize Knight (Jeff), Jessica Mize Stott (Michael), Anna Ruth Glenn (Jonathan), and Jackson Robert Glenn, and five great grandchildren: Lucy Sunshine Knight, Wiley Knight, Finley Knight, Violet Anne Stott, and River Michael Stott.
Funeral services for Mr. Bradley will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16 at Ridout’s Valley Chapel in Homewood. Immediately following the service, friends are cordially invited to the visitation and reception at the funeral home until 1:00 p.m. At 2:00 p.m., Air Force Military Honors will be conducted and rendered at Alabama National Cemetery located at 3133 Highway 119, Montevallo, Alabama 35115.
