

Ronald Kolman, 88 of Montgomery passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2019. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on 24 May 1931 to the late Benjamin Kolman and Julia Weiss Kolman. He attended high school in Chicago and then joined the United States Army serving in the infantry. After leaving the Army he returned to Chicago where he worked in the financial sector before returning to the armed services in the United States Air Force. Ron served in Korea and several bases in the United States before being assigned to Maxwell Air Force Base in 1956. He left the Air Force while stationed at Maxwell and settled in Montgomery where he remained throughout his life. Ron will be remembered for his love of family and a love of travel that took him took him all over the world. His greatest joy in life was traveling with family. He will be remembered as a devoted brother, and a loving husband, father, uncle, grandfather and great grandfather. Ron was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sister, Kay Kolman Tyler, his wife, Corene Botts Kolman, his sons, Richard (Tonya) and Randall Kolman, step-children, Freddie (Dianne) Hegler, Jeffrey (Lisa) Hegler, Sherri (Jeff) Ash, and George (Carla) Hegler, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
On Friday, September 6, a visitation will be held at Ridout's Valley Chapel in Homewood, Alabama from 10:00 to 11:00 am. The funeral service will be held at The Alabama National Cemetery, Montevallo, Alabama, at 2:00 pm.
