Sarah R. Thomas

Sarah Elizabeth Rowell Thomas of Birmingham passed away on June 26, 2021 at the age of 91. She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, L.S. Thomas, Jr.; parents, Steiner Lewis and Amanda Josey Rowell; brothers, Lewis, Raymond, Andy, James, and Wayne; and sisters, Mary Alice Rowell, Jane House, Virginia Whitlock, and Margaret Latham.

Sarah is survived by daughter, Karen Tucker (James) and son, Michael Thomas (Ellen); grandchildren Kimberly Hooper (Brian), Jillian Tucker, Lane Brown (Graham), and Kirk Thomas (Caroline); and great-grandsons, Langley and Austin Hooper and Nathan Brown. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Ann Rowell and Martha Couch, brother-in-law, Jerry Thomas (Beth) and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to express appreciation to the Building L staff at Fair Haven for the loving care Sarah received during the past year.

A family graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 30th at 10:30 am at Elmwood Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Sarah’s life on Wednesday at 1:00 pm at Aldridge Gardens, 3530 Lorna Road, Hoover, AL 35216.
