Susan Olive Hemphill, age 74, of Birmingham, Alabama passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2016. She is survived by her daughter Lisa Shadrach (Lloyd) of Franklin, TN, son David, daughter Molly Knudsen (Eric) and the light of her life, six grandchildren – Darden, Susan, Lily, Sally, Kaj and Izzy. She is also survived by her sisters Elizabeth Jones and Martha Boyle (John).
Susan attended Auburn University, loved ballet dancing and worked for Rich's/Macy’s for 35 years doing what she loved and did best, helping people. She served hundreds of families in Birmingham throughout her career. In life and retirement she did the same for her family and grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM on Sunday at Ridout's Valley Chapel. There will be a private family graveside ceremony following at Elmwood Cemetery.
