Thomas Melvin Horton, Jr. age 72, of Birmingham, died on July 16, 2012. He is survived by his wife, Diann Gurley Horton; sons, Tommy Horton (Trudi), Lenny Sington (Lisa); daughters, Katherine Mc Gowan (Paul), Nancy Burton (Rob) and many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. His also survived by a sister, Ann Simpson (Bill).The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 from 5 until 7 in the evening at Ridout’s Valley Chapel in Homewood. Funeral service will be Thursday, July 19, 2012 at 1 in the afternoon at Ridout’s Valley Chapel followed by burial at Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, UAB Heart Transplant Research or Support Group, Birmingham, Al 35254 or Mountain Brook Community Church.
