

Dee, Virginia McGaha (Snow) of Homewood, died March 25, 2013, at the age of 90. She was born in Birmingham July 9, 1922, and remained in the Birmingham area her entire life. She was preceded in death by her parents, B. K. and Lucille McGaha, sister Anne Magnus, husband, Henry Adams Snow, III, husband John E. Dee, and son, Henry Adams Snow, IV.
She is survived by her son, Alden Snow (Debbie Snow), her daughter, Ginny Wilson (Bobby Wilson), grandchildren Lori Currie (Justin Currie), Vaughn Traywick, Brytney Cobia (Miles Cobia), and Cathryn Snow. She also leaves behind her caring and compassionate caregiver Faye Stoves and many wonderful Bridge partners.
Throughout her life she loved to sing and play the piano having sung in the choir and many solos at Canterbury United Methodist Church after joining when it was Mountain Brook Church. She was an exceptionally talented seamstress and was a member of the Bishop Belles Sewing Club. She also loved her flower gardens and enjoyed being a member of the Brookhill Forest Garden Club for many years.
Her family wishes to thank the nurses and care associates at Brookdale Place for all the dedication and care she received and to the administration for providing events that kept her active for the past 14 years.
The family will receive friends at Ridout’s Valley Chapel on Thursday, March 28 from 11:00 to noon with a service of celebration to follow at noon. A private interment will be held following the visitation.
