Virginia B. Pittman

PITTMAN, VIRGINIA GOLD Virginia Gold Pittman, age 80, passed peacefully on Friday, November 18, 2011. Virginia was a member of the Talladega High School class of 1949, where she was a cheerleader. She was employed with Rich's Department Store in Atlanta, and with Blach's and Pizitz/ McRaes Department stores in Birmingham. Virginia is the widow of the late, John Pittman. She is preceded in death by her brother, Ed Gold of Bentonville, AR, her son, William "Butch" Treace of Atlanta, GA and her daughter Wanda Treace Eckhardt of Perry, Ga. She is survived by daughter Cathy Blythe Doyle of Cape Coral, Fl, son Charles "Rusty" Blythe of Birmingham, AL., sisters Patricia Ann Gold of Birmingham, Shirley Gold Maxwell of Childersburg and brother Bobby Gold of Bentonville, AR, five grandchildren, Keri Eckhardt, Brandy Eckhardt Nasworthy, Megan Eckhardt Calloway, Sean Ott and Ryan Doyle and their children. A time of visitation for Mrs. Pittman will be held on Saturday December 3,2011 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM , followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM at the Ridout's Valley Chapel at 1800 Oxmoor Road in Homewood, AL. The family wishes to give thanks to the staff of New Beacon Hospice. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society .
