Walter was born on September 13, 1960 in Lake Charles, LA. He attended Shades Valley High School where he met Linda and they were married on April 11, 1980. They moved to Homewood, AL in 1988 where Walter was active with his family and their many hobbies, such as baseball, basketball, soccer, softball, and motorcycles. After his children became teenagers, he returned to UAB and completed his B.S. in Social Work in December of 2006. Although this was not his profession, he always had a passion and a calling to care for others and routinely practiced it in his day-to-day life.
He was a sweet-souled, loving man, and a good friend to everyone. He will be deeply missed and will leave a lasting impression of love and kindness that will be engrained in the hearts of all he touched.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Ann Duhon, his children, Daniel Duhon and Leslie Jordan, and his grandchildren, Cyprus, Christian, Chloe, and Carter Duhon.
The family will receive friends on Monday, May 3rd at Ridout's Valley Chapel beginning at 1:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Walter's life beginning at 2:00 pm.
