Age 81, of Hoover, passed away Monday, March 5, 2012. Milton served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Soon after returning, he began working for Hayes Aircraft with 47 years of service, most of which was spent as an air traffic controller. He was also a long time member of the Birmingham Amateur Radio Club. Milton was a member of Hunter Street Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nell, his daughter Sheila (Bob) Vance, one brother, David Smith (Jeane) and several nieces and nephews along with many beloved friends.
Memorial service will be Thursday, March 8, 2012 at 11a.m. Ridout’s Valley Chapel. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to Hunter Street Baptist Church.
