

Beverly Jean Nelson, 87, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Thurs., Aug. 4, 2016 at Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast Hospice House, Lecanto, FL. A native of Whitley County, IN., she was born Sept. 12, 1928 to Arthur and Grace (Hively) Pence, one of six children. Jean, as she was known to many, was a lifelong homemaker and moved to Homosassa 29 years ago from Grand Rapids, Michigan. Mrs. Nelson was a long time and faithful member of First United Methodist Church of Homosassa for the past 29 years and also held memberships in the Sugarmill Woods Golf and Country Club, where she loved to play golf and bridge; Women of Sugarmill Woods; Daughters of the American Revolution and the Sons of the American Revolution Auxiliary. Jean is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Harley B. Nelson, Homosassa; daughter Carla Heimer, Inverness, FL; sister Mary Limecooly, Ft. Wayne, IN and grandson Benjamin Heimer (wife Nina), Evanston, ILL. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by four siblings: Billy J., Paul, Barbara and Lee. A memorial service will take place from Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa on Thursday, Aug. 25, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. with inurnment following at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL at 12:30 P.M.
