Carolene "Carol" Himes

Carolene “Carol” Himes, 73, of Beverly Hills, Florida, passed away on Friday, August 18, 2017 at her home. A native of Osgood, Indiana, she was born January 22, 1944 to Rudy and Jeanette (Nisonger) Yocum, one of six children. Carol, as she was known to many, was a lifelong homemaker and mother, but also held several jobs during her life in manufacturing, including as a seamstress. She moved to this area in 1999 from Loughman, Florida and was a member of Community Baptist Church, Brooksville, Florida. Mrs. Himes is survived by her loving husband Donald “Skip” Himes of Beverly Hills, FL, with whom she has shared 30 years; her four children: Darrin Taylor (wife Tracy), Homosassa, FL; Carolina Ingalls (husband John), Cowpen, SC; Donald Himes, Jr., Ocoee, FL and Jennifer Bailey (husband Charles), Clermont, FL; siblings Ernie Yocum, Youngstown, OH and Phyllis Strathman, El Paso, TX; grandchildren Paige, Gage, Cassie, Nathan, Matt, Amber, Jarrad, Jase, Josh, Colin, Morgan, Jessica, Michelle and Heather and great grandchildren Jasper, Oliver, Mason, Sterling and Luci. In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by two sons, Michael Rentas and Rudy Taylor, as well as three sisters: Jan, Jeannie and Linda. Friends will be received on Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017 from 5:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Community Baptist Church, 13232 Citrus Way, Brooksville, FL 34601, where a funeral service will take place a 6:00 P.M. with Pastor Doug Bolander officiating.
