Ernest Guerra

Ernest Guerra, of Homosassa, FL, sadly passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 surrounded by his loving family at the age of 78. Born and raised in Tampa, Florida, Ernie served his country honorably and proudly in the U.S. Army. Ernie worked as a mechanic for Wonder Bread for over 40 years until he retired in 2004. He met the love of his life, Hope, and they were married on May 26,1984. Throughout their 39 years of marriage, Ernie enjoyed dancing with his wife to 50’s and 60’s music. They both created a dance group called The Boppers, which consisted of two couples; Ernie, Hope, Maxine and Raul. They were so good they were invited to perform at the fairgrounds as well as many other venues. When Ernie wasn't dancing, he would enjoy watching his brother David and his sister-in-law Marsha race their top fueled dragsters at the drag races. Ernie also enjoyed helping people fix their cars and even build his own kit car for his wife. He had even purchased a Pink 1964 Oldsmobile Convertible, where they would drive through Clearwater with the top down playing 50’s music nice and loud. He even enjoyed his trips to Daytona Beach and cruises to the Caribbean with his wife and friends. Ernie was full of Life, Love and Laughter…he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Ernie is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Hope (nee Powell), his loving children Sandra, Cynthia, Allan Wood and Christian Guerra; his loving brother David and sister-in-law Marsha Guerra; his cherished grandchildren Nikki, Brandon, Camrie, Kayla and Ambrie Wood, and two wonderful great-grandsons, Cayden and Cameron Klink. Ernie was predeceased by both his parents Raymond and Lucy Guerra and his brother Danny Guerra. Friends will be received at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, Florida on Sun., June 4, 2023 from 2:00 to 6:00 P.M., where a Celebration Of Life will take place on Monday, June 5th at 10:00 A.M.
