John Anthony Dickson

John Anthony Dickson, 90, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on April 15, 2012 at Cypress Cove Care Center in Crystal River. A native of Lawrence, MA, he was born May 2, 1921 to Robert and Frances (Slimas) Dickson and was a longtime resident of Madeira Beach and St. Petersburg before settling in Citrus County. John was a retired mechanic for The City of Madeira Beach with 20 years of service and was of the Roman Catholic faith. Mr. Dickson served his country during WWII in the U.S. Air Force in the South Pacific and European Theaters. He was a Life Member of the American Legion and VFW in Citrus County and the AmVets in Massachusetts. John is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lucille Dickson; sister Frances Burgess of Homosassa; sister Barbara Jean Watkins of Floral City; brother Ralph Dickson of Conroy, TX and brother Patrick Dickson of Port Charlotte as well as many nieces and nephews. Mr. Dickson was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and George. A memorial service with military honors will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Tues., July 3, 2012 at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. www.wilderfuneral.com
