

Mrs. Lou Anna Barrett passed away July 29, 2015. She was 77 years old. She is survived by her husband, J Larre Barrett and their two sons, William P. Barrett and Christopher W. Barrett and their wives. Larre resides in Homosassa, FL and their sons reside in Raleigh, NC and Scarsdale, NY respectively. She has twin Granddaughters in Raleigh. She also is survived by her brother William who lives in Peoria, IL with his wife Julie. They have three children in Illinois who also survive Lou Anna.
Mrs. Barrett was born Lou Anna Elmore in Kansas City, MO. She grew up in Salisbury, MO and graduated with Honors from the University of Missouri with a degree in Medical Technology. She was employed as a Medical Technologist in hospitals in Columbia, MO and in Evanston, IL.
The family moved to Chappaqua, NY in 1978 where she was active in the Parents Association of the Chappaqua school system and served as president of the Ladies Golf Association at Mt. Kisco Country Club for three years.
Moving to Homosassa, FL in 1998, Lou Ann became a member of the Homosassa River Garden Club, serving as President of the club for two years. She was deeply involved in the Garden Club’s project of the restoring and beautification of the Stage Stand Cemetery in Homosassa.
Lou Ann’s real passion was caring for her family and a significant part of that was a love for creative cooking. She created many unusual dinners that delighted her family on many different occasions.
A service for Lou Ann will be held at 11am on Saturday, Aug. 1st at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Homosassa, FL. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation or the HPH hospice in Brooksville, FL are encouraged. www.wilderfuneral.com
