

Michael Paul Herrin, 48, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Sun., Feb. 25, 2024 at his home. A native of Hobart, IN, he was born May 9, 1975 to Eddie Wayne and Linda Gail (Kibble) Herrin, one of five children. Michael moved to Homosassa in 1991 from Hammond, IN, and his working life held two facets. He was a sales representative for Florida Pest Control, but also was the devoted pastor of Church of Jesus Christ of Homosassa Springs. When his children were young, he enjoyed coaching baseball and Pop Warner Football. An avid fisherman, hunter and outdoorsman, he was known a man who enjoyed the “catch and cook” lifestyle, and spending as much time as possible with his family and friends. Michael’s perfect day would revolve around being out on the water and making memories. He was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Wayne Herrin and a nephew Steven Patrick Geary. Michael is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Theresa Herrin of Homosassa; his mother Linda Herrin, Homosassa; children Dwayne Scales (wife Laura), Dyersburg, TN; Marissa Westmoreland (husband Randy), Valparaiso, IN; Meghan Moore (husband Wyatt), Homosassa, FL and Cameron Herrin (wife Sarah, also of Homosassa, FL; granddaughters Karlee and Harper Westmoreland, Oakleigh Scales and grandsons Dawson Westmoreland and Easton Scales; siblings Sandy Pinkley, Kim Geary (husband Steve), Lisa Breeden (husband Robert) and Darryl Herrin (wife Tammy). Friends will be received on Thurs., Feb. 29, 2024 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ, 10430 W. Pennsylvania Avenue, Homosassa, FL, 34448, where a Celebration of Life Service will take place on Fri., March 1, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. with Brother Troy Lee Stafford officiating.
