

She was bor Sept. 17, 1938 in Green City, MO daughter of the late John J. Hardy and Thelma Campbell Hardy. Nelva moved to Leigh Acres, FL in 1978 from Morganton, NC and to Homosassa 6 years ago from Lehigh Acres. She was a retired Elementary School Teacher. Member of the First United Methodist Church of Homosassa, South East Regional President of Fleet Reserve, Crystal River Moose Ladies Aux., CASA of Citrus County and a volunteer for Hospice of Citrus County.
Velva is survived by her husband Raymond H. Clemans of Homosassa; sons Kenneth B. Sondergard (Mary Lee), George D. Padgett (Sherry) and Edward Wayne Padgett; daughter Norene Padgett; step-daughter LaVetta Lee Baklini; sisters Arlyce Barton, Joann Hopps and Linda; grandchildren Lee Summer Williams (Andy), Kenneth B. Sondergard III, April P. Dixon (Brandon), and Gregory Padgett II (Tasha); step-grandchildren Blake Baklini and Rachael Baklini; great-grandchildren Daren Williams, Alissa Williams, Caitlyn Dixon, Wesley Padgett and Avery Padgett.
A celebration of Nelva life will be held 10 am, Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church of Homosassa with Pastor Kip Younger officiating.
