Patricia Ann "Pat" Thomas

Patricia Ann Thomas, 94, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Sat., Dec. 6, 2025 at HPH Hospice Sturgill Care Center in Brooksville, FL. A native of Auburn, IN, she was born Aug. 28, 1931 to Edward and Grace (Kessler) Haines, one of two children. Pat, as she was known to everyone, raised her children in Buchanan, MI and enjoyed a long career as a data entry technician in Michigan and Georgia for Tyler Refrigeration and National Standard, both of Niles, MI; Intermediate School District of Berrien Springs, MI; Safeco Insurance of Stone Mountain, GA and J. Riggins of Norcross, GA. Her final employment, from which she retired after 15 years, was as Office Manager of Wilder Funeral Home of Homosassa. Pat moved to Homosassa in 1990 from Tryon, NC with her beloved husband of 59 years, William W. “Bill” Thomas, who passed away May 20, 2011. Pat pursued her favorite passions during her life enjoying her bowling league in Buchanan, MI, as well as the Women’s Slow Pitch Softball Association, also of Buchanan, MI. Her love of the game of golf she pursued also as a member of the Women’s Golf League at Orchard Hills Country Club, also of Buchanan, MI and Clearbrook Golf Club in Saugatuck, MI. She continued her love of golf in her retirement in Homosassa, as well as bike riding and Tai Chi classes. In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her sister, Janie Haines Sharp, and a grandson, Aaron Glossinger. She is survived by her children Chris Thomas (wife Pam), Niles, MI; Stephen Thomas, Homosassa, FL; Nancy Thomas, Niles, MI and Michael Thomas, Fayetteville, GA; grandchildren Erica Thomas Mitchell (husband Travis), Niles, MI; Jodi Glossinger and Peter Holt, both of Carroll, OH, and great granddaughters Payton Mitchell, Niles, MI and Ella Holt, Carroll, OH.
