

Phyllis Irene Konitshek, 82, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Sat., Oct. 8, 2022 at HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital in Hudson, FL. A native of Atlanta, GA, she was born Jan. 28, 1940 to Quinn and Gladys (Kline) Partee, one of two children. Phyllis lived in South Florida from high school until 1974, moved to Missouri, then came here to Citrus County in 1996, and had also lived in Georgia. Her working life held many facets; including piano instructor, preschool children's education, newspaper distribution and customer service; but her most treasured occupation was as a volunteer for the Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park for over 17 years. Her perfect day would revolve around wildlife and photography, her beloved felines, and spending quality time with family while occasionally sipping a white wine. She also loved to go out to dinner to new restaurants, take road trips and go sightseeing, and old time rock and roll concerts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 40 years, Paul William Konitshek, Jr. on Feb. 26, 2002. Phyllis is survived by her two sons: Paul Konitshek (wife Della May) of Citrus Springs, FL and Richard Konitshek (wife Denise Anne) of Cary, NC; grandchildren Heather Anne Konitshek, Aurora Syler (husband Josh) and Caprice Konitshek, all of the greater Atlanta area; Hannah Ilene Konitshek of San Francisco, CA and Haley Melissa Konitshek of Cary, NC and brother Phillip Partee (wife Marria) of Vero Beach, FL. Friends will be received on Fri., Oct. 14, 2022 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, FL, where a Celebration Of Life will commence at 1:30 PM. Interment will follow at 2:45 at Fountains Memorial Park, Homosassa, FL.
