

Richard N. “Dick” Naylor, 77, of Homosassa, FL and formerly Seminole, FL, passed away on Thurs., Dec. 17, 2020 at HPH Citrus Hospice Care Center in Lecanto, FL. Richard was born June 16, 1943 to Harry and Marie (Sebek) Naylor, one of two children. Mr. Naylor’s grandparents moved to the Clearwater, FL in the 20’s and in fact, their home was located where the Morton Plant Hospital’s Emergency Room exists today. Dick, as he was known to many, enjoyed a long and respected 33 year career with Bristol-Meyers-Squibb Corporation, retiring as its Vice President of Operations. His area of responsibility included the overseeing of operations in manufacturing plants around the entire world. Mr. Naylor was the author and owner of several medical patents, which are on display at the Smithsonian Museum of Modern Art in New York, NY. Mr. Naylor moved to Homosassa permanently in 1993 from Seminole, FL, but had a weekend home in Old Homosassa since 1969. When his sons were young, he coached and managed Little League Baseball in Seminole. He was a realtor for ERA in Homosassa for a number of years; was Past President and lifetime member of the Optimist Club and as a ham radio operator, worked with the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office during emergency situations. Dick also served on the Board of Directors for UPARC and the National Safety Council. His passions and interests in life included piloting helicopters, diving, and as an RV enthusiast, he visited 46 states in his RV. Mr. Naylor was also a talented and gifted master gardener. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Lawhorn Naylor and a brother Tommy Naylor. Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Brenda J. Naylor of Homosassa, FL; daughter Brooke Oster (husband Alan), Palm Harbor, FL; son Michael Naylor (wife Betty), Toccoa, GA; and grandchildren Ryan Oster, Palm Harbor, FL; Cody Naylor, Toccoa, GA and Robert Fahlbush, Charleston, SC.
