Pastor Sharon M. Hooper, 72, of Beverly Hills, Florida, passed away on Monday, Sept. 13, 2021 at Bayfront Health Seven Rivers Hospital in Crystal River, Florida. A native of Tempe, Arizona, she was born May 2, 1949 to Raymond and Pauline (Luna) Harris, one of seven children. In addition to becoming an ordained minister in the Church of God, Sharon was also a lifelong educator. As she pursued her career as a teacher, primarily in Christian School settings, her passion was passing along knowledge of all subjects; however her favorites were English and Biblical studies. Having retired from teaching not too long ago, she most recently loved tutoring disabled children. The genre of Christian music was an equal passion in her life, and she loved to sing. Pastor Hooper loved Thanksgiving and Christmas, as that meant that all of her family would be together. Her late husband of 32 years, Bishop Ronnie F. Hooper, who passed away in 2020, was her constant companion in their RV when they traveled to visit family as much as possible. One of Sharon's greatest joys were her grandchildren, who could do no wrong in her eyes. She moved here in 2012 from Ferndale, Florida and in addition to her parents and her husband Ronnie, she was preceded in death by her brother Dan Harris and her sister, Debra Louise Harris. She is survived by her sons Ryan Franklin Hooper (wife Jaynelle) of Beverly Hills, Florida and Franklin Leon Hooper (wife Traci Lee) of Lehigh Acres, Florida; siblings Thurman Harris, Marilyn Whaley, Carl Harris and Marvin Harris; grandchildren AnnIese Marie Hooper, Beverly Hills, Florida and Austin Michael, Aubree Michelle and Andrew Mason Hooper, all of Lehigh Acres, Florida and many nieces and nephews, as well as her furbaby Sasha. Funeral Service of Remembrance will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2021 at 12:00 Noon from Homosassa Church of God, 8323 W. Bradshaw St., Homosassa, Florida 34448 with Pastor Ronnie Reid of Crystal River Church of God officiating. www.wilderfuneral.com
