William F. "Bill" Robben, 86, of Homosassa, FL, entered into Eternal Life on November 6, 2021. Bill was born on February 19, 1935 in Brooklyn, New York, the only child of Walter and Marie Robben. Bill was a first generation American, learned to speak English and German as a child, and spent his childhood summers on a farm in Upstate New York. He loved music, especially big band; and was an avid reader, history buff and sports fan. Bill met his one true love, Mary Lou, on a co-ed bowling league, and married her 6 months later. He first started golfing on his honeymoon, discovering his other life long passion. Bill and Mary Lou raised their five children on Long Island, New York, and enjoyed family vacations traveling together in a station wagon, often times visiting Florida. Bill accepted an early retirement package at age 57, and he and his wife moved to Sugarmill Woods in 1992. He enjoyed playing golf three or four times a week, and scored three holes-in-one during his career. One of his favorite sayings was, "If it makes you happy to be happy, then be happy!" Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 63 1/2 years, Mary Lou, as well as his five children; Christopher, Kenneth, Mary, Karen and Timothy and his five grandchildren; Tracy, Michael, Matthew, Quinn Marie and Colin. Friends will be received at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Homosassa, on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 9:30 A.M. Following the visitation, a Mass Of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. J. Glenn Diaz, Celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Thomas the Apostle or to the St. Thomas Conference of the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
