He retired at the age of 64 from Jorgensen Steel Company as a Shipping Supervisor. Grew up in Kalihi, attended Farrington High School, and at age 18 enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Alaska. Allan was a very talented and humble man that was loved by his family and anyone who had a chance to know him. In his younger years he enjoyed free diving, and water skiing in the Kailua beach area. Every Friday night was fun filled at home playing the ukulele/guitar with family and friends. Yes, the singing of Hawaiian songs with a mixture of the backyard oldies was great music for everyone’s ears. If someone turned on some music from the “Big Band” era he would be the first one up sharing his expertise at dancing that got everyone smiling. Because of his proficiency in horse-shoes, darts, and sharing jokes, he also had a lot of fun when he took up golf with his sons in his later years. This handy-man was always busy fixing something around the house or maintaining the car/yard. He also loved playing Keno and the Slot Machines in Las Vegas.
