So its been one quick year but I find it funny that on any given day when we think or talk about you it seems that you are still with us. I guess it takes someone special (ED) to leave a lasting impression on all of us.

I miss you coming over saying the same thing about Sebastian. I quote "Bastard looking good, he lost weight." Hurley is still traumatized. Still think people are popsicles. Fat Bottom gurl thinks she's a pony doing barrel racing in the back yard, and Leila #79 is now completely deaf.
My 2 little pumpkins are becoming big pumpkins. So one night I had them stand against my bathroom wall & marking the wall with a pencil of their heights. I come home from work & see in red, marsh pen red all these lines on my wall. Who did this in my angry voice. "Was me grandma," Liliwai said. I was measuring me & TiTi so see how much we growed. How can I be mad at them. Besides we were going to paint the house with the paint that has been sitting outside in the garage for a year!
Liliwai & Lahiki misses you too. We have the halloween picture up & they know you went to heaven. Sometimes out of the clear blue sky one of them will say they miss you. 
Maryrose & I will continue our once a month or maybe every other month breakfast & include Robin. And yes, we did get a bunch of flowers for her and a lei for you. Really nice how she set up your picture. Changing the subject Robin did a beautiful cross for you back road. And...she when clean the kitchen windows. Now we can difnitely see out the window.  And... we got couple bunches of Vinnie's bananas hanging over on our side of the fence for
pasteles.
Well, I guess you won't be needing a designated driver. I was getting to the point of driving in "braille" anyway. That's what Sharise calls it when I drive over on the white stuff.
You know how I feel about tattoos," Why you go mark up your body" I'd ask.
Things changed. I did a tattoo of your tiger. Wyland, Sharise & me. Everybody was making fun that I would cry, and I wouldn't do it.  Nobody believed I would do it. Well, I did it. The boss didn't believe I did it. "Yeah Right" is what she said. You know Ben, it must have been the right time becuz it was the most Relaxing, calming feeling that came over me. Now makes me want to do another of my sisters & my grandkids. I already commissioned graffiti Alex to work on one for me. "Psyche!" 
Ben,I know you're gone and there's nothing that would bring you back. I know in the back of my mind I know something else happened. I just know it.
It is said everyone grieves in their own way, but how do I stop grieving when deep in my heart my sore heart (I'm not having aheart attack ok) I soooo(yes, extra o's) I really, really miss you Ben.

Ben was a people person. I will never get over him telling me, "Thank you for coming to work". It has to be the funniest thing I ever heard a Boss tell a worker! He was honest, real and not full of hot air like so many others in this world. Ben had the heart of a hero and the care he showed people was so nice. Ben always helped wherever he could. When I lost my temper once, he looked so sad, because he knew that was one time he wouldn't be able to help. I apoligize to you for that! But no worries, Bennie Boy, it's all good. It all worked out for the best! You'll always be the Real Deal in my book, and judging from the loving comments from so many others, you set a shining example of humanity, that people will respect for a lifetime.

I met this wonderful person over ten years ago and what is now Lowes and then eagle hardware and garden. We were friends then until I moved away I lost touch but never forgot this wonderful man he still knew my dad and I would send my aloha to him I never stopped thinking about Ben as I sit in my home which is now in Germany my heart is sadden deeply by this News of the loss of this great person his smile and laugh were contagious and after all these years still remember how he affected my heart GOD must have a purpose for you Ben he needs you with him now my heart cries for this loss of life, my thoughts and prayers go out to Bens family during this very sad time GOD bless you all stay strong ns remember the great things Ben has given you all

 I remember my cousin Benedict as being a dynamo, i.e. very active,  a happy little boy.  I guess when I was 17 he was 3.  Years later, we (Annabella, Anna and I) remember seeing him in 1998, when we finally got back to Hawaii and there were family get-togethers.   Benedict still had that great sense of humor and was the dynamo he always was.  

Another thing that always made me feel close to Benedict, was that we share that same name--Benedict--His first name, my middle.   Not many Benedicts in this world.  For me, Benedict was always someone special, who made others feel good.  Not many have such a good aura.

Our (Anna's, Annabella's and mine) sympathies from the bottom of our hearts to the Tabar family and to all  closest to him everyday, who will feel the pain of his absence the most.

You were my co-worker who became a good friend (even if you were loud & obnoxious) and in the long run you became the big brother I never had....miss you bro Benedict! Your smile will always shine in my heart!
