I'm so sorry to read about Dale's passing. He was my favorite teacher at Aiea H.S.! I took 1 year of French and 3 years of German from him. He brought the languages and cultures to life. He taught us German folk dances, took us to a Brathaus in Waikiki and introduced us to German music groups like BAP and Nena. He also took to us to our first viewing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show at UH. His love of teaching was apparent and his passion for languages was infectious. It's been nearly 40 years since my first German class with him and I still remember his mnemonic, "When 2 vowels go walking, the 2nd does the talking." Dale, thank you so much for caring about us! I cherish the memories I have of being in your classes. My deepest condolences to your loved ones.
