

GEORGE LEHI KAIKANA, 90, died on 11/6/15 in Hilo, Hawaii. He was born in Honolulu to Kawai and Emma Kaikana. He attended Kaimuki High School, served duty in the United States Army, employed at HECO and retired after 35 years. George was affiliated with the Alu Like Hawaiian Association for over many long and happy years at Waimanalo and Hilo, Hawaii, which he enjoyed with his friends. He loved to entertain with them and won many awards for his good-natured and friendly attitude, as well as his hula and ukulele talents. George was married to his late wife, Odelian Kuulei Y.S. (Liu) Kaikana for 35 years. He leaves behind brother James and sisters Alice, Mary, and Emma; one daughter, Wendy Olsen, two grand-daughters, two grand-sons, two step-daughters, Lorna Liu Ota and Sister Rochelle Liu, OSF, many step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. George was predeceased by parents, daughter Charlene, step-sons Paul E. Liu and Walter H.S. Liu, Jr., step-daughter Sr. Mary Damien Liu, O.S.B., step-grand-daughter Odelian Leiola Liu.
Life Celebration services will be held on Saturday, December 19th, 2015 from 9-11 a.m. at Borthwick Mortuary, 1330 Maunakea St., Honolulu. Private burial at Hawaiian Memorial Cemetery.
