
After graduating from Atascadero Union High School in 1958, Herb proudly served his country in the United States Navy aboard the USS Midway. He later came to Hawai‘i in 1959 while in the Navy, the same year the islands became a state—a place he would come to love and call home.
Following his service in the Navy, Herb attended college in Southern California where he had successful career in the semiconductor industry in the mainland and went on to have a dedicated career as the owner of Mauka Cable/Perry Enterprises in Hawaii. He started Mauka Cable of Hawaii when he moved to Hawaii in 1986. The goal for the company was to bring Data and Telecommunication inventory to Hawaii.
He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and lived his life with integrity, devotion, and kindness.
He is the son of Margaret Crofoot and Richard Allen Perry.
Herb married the love of his life, Kathy Perry, on November 11, 1989, in Honolulu, Hawai‘i.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy; his children, Denise, Lisa, and Herbert Richard Perry Jr.; and his stepchildren, John Archer, Patricia Weller, and Barbara Masssey.
He is also survived by his sister, Peggy De Forest Bottini from Ripon, CA, who loved her big brother dearly.
He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; as well as 12 great-grandchildren.
