Hideko was bon in Shiyoya, Okinawa, Japan on June 24, 1937. She graduated high school in Okinawa and moved to Honolulu, Hawaii in 1957. She also attended and graduated from Kaimuki High School in 1962 and then moved to California. She returned to Hawaii where she met and married Tatsuo Tengan in June of 1965. She gave birth to Valerie, Stacy, Noreen and Kevin. She worked at Ala Moana Poi Bowl and Orange Julius at Windward Mall, Kaneohe, Hawaii. During her retirement, she enjoyed karaoke, taking care of her orchids, and going to Vegas.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Tatsuo Tengan; daughters, Valerie, Stacy, Noreen Tengan; son, Kevin Tengan; grandchild, Kaiwi Ahina.
