A devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, daughter, sister, cousin, niece, and dear friend, Pualani lived a life centered around faith, family, and service to others. Her greatest pride and joy was the love of her ʻohana.
Pualani is survived by her beloved husband, Alberto Vendiola, and her five children: Kawika (Uila), Keola (Lahela), Maile (Matt), Amanda (Patrick), and Waipuna (Keaka). She was a loving grandmother to her 13 grandchildren: Bryia, Makenna, Kaylee, Nawelo, Amari, Gemini, Kahler Jr., Aaliyah, Malakai, Maia, Keana, Pomaikaʻi, and Kaleimakawai. And a proud great-grandma to Jadelyn and Moani.
She is also survived by her siblings: Victor, Leonard, Theresa, Alan, and Andrica. Pualani was preceded in death by her parents, Victorino and Cecilia Nombris, and her brother, Alexander Nombris.
An avid sports enthusiast, Pualani faithfully supported her children and grandchildren in all of their sporting events and activities. Whether cheering from the sidelines or simply spending quality time together, she found her greatest happiness being with family. She also loved visiting Las Vegas, her cherished “9th Island" where many joyful memories were made.
Pualani was a proud 1974 graduate of Kahuku High School and graduate of Hawaii Medical Assistant School. She dedicated many years of service as an employee of Kaiser Permanente before an early retirement to care for her grandchildren, a role she treasured deeply.
Pualani will be remembered for her compassionate heart, quiet strength, unwavering love, generosity, and the countless sacrifices she made for her family. Her presence brought warmth, comfort, laughter, and aloha to all who knew her.
Though deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing this separation is only temporary and that her loving spirit will continue to watch over them always.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Green Valley, Punaluʻu, Oʻahu, on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. Friends and family are welcome. Aloha attire.
