May 1, 1921 - November 21, 2021
Mary Marrone, age 100, of Honolulu, Hawaii, graduated to heaven on Sunday, November 21, 2021. Born in Dublin, Ireland to Charles and Julia Day, she was the youngest of seven siblings.
Mary always loved to dance and was set to embark on a career in professional dancing. When WWII deterred her plans, it led her to England to help in the war efforts. While in England, she met the love of her life, Clem, and they were married in 1945.
She lived in Ohio, California and in 1959, when Hawaii made Statehood, she moved to the Aloha State with her husband and four children.
Together with Clem, they opened Marrone's Pizza. The first pizza restaurant in Wahiawa, Hawaii. It was a great success for 14 years until they both retired. In retirement, they were active members of the New Hope Christian Fellowship where they volunteered regularly in the helps ministry.
Her dear husband, Clem, predeceased her after 66 years of marriage. She is survived by her four children; Floreene (Gary - predeceased) Denny, Nicholas (Katherine) Marrone, Patrick (Patricia) Marrone, Sheila (Bill) Warburton, 3 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.BorthwickOahu.com for the Marrone family.
