Melvin Everett Spencer, Jr., 79, of Honolulu, Hawaii passed away in his home on November 19, 2013. He was born in Palama, Hawaii, lived most of his adult life in Hawaii Kai, and most recently downsized to a condominium in the Ala Moana area. He was a graduate of President Theodore Roosevelt High School and went on to complete a BBA at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He spent most of his career as a credit manager. After retirement, he enjoyed being a limousine driver who was popular with guests at the former Kahala Hilton Hotel. He is survived by his wife, Shigeko Spencer; sons, Melvin E. Spencer, III, Michael S Spencer; and 3 grandchildren, Everett Kanaiaupuni Spencer, Hannah Kanoelani Tsuneko Spencer, and Ethan-Luke Keawe Spencer. Funeral Service will be held on December 15, 2013 at Kaumakapili Church located at 766 North King Street Honolulu, HI 96817. Visitation will begin at 4:00 pm with service at 5:00 pm. Parking is available at Princess Victoria Kaiulani Elementary School and the parking lot next to Tamashiro Market. Aloha or casual attire; no floral wreaths please, but a lei is fine.
