Our beloved mother, Patricia “Pat” A. (Okabe) Paliracio, age 89, of Honolulu, passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by her children on February 25, 2026. A devoted follower of Jesus Christ, she looked forward with faith to being reunited with the Lord.
She was born on February 15, 1937, in Wahiawa Plantation Camp, Kauaʻi. Patricia graduated from Waimea High School before moving to Oʻahu to pursue accounting studies at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. She later married, raised a family, and played a key role in building her husband’s business, Honolulu Glass, Inc.
Patricia was an accomplished ballroom dancer for over 35 years, competing in Las Vegas during the 1980s and performing in exhibitions and dance schools across Oʻahu until 2020. Dance was her joyful form of self-expression. In her younger years, she also performed hula with her halau throughout Kauaʻi. May she dance freely and joyfully in heaven forever.
She is survived by two of her three children, Jason Paliracio and Cindy Paliracio; her siblings Joan Tanigawa, Sandra Muramoto, James Okabe, Rosaline Largo, Joe Makua Jr., Samuel Makua, and Wendell Makua; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The family invites loved ones and friends to join them in celebration of her life at Borthwick Mortuary, Mauka Chapel, in Honolulu on April 11, 2026.
