Skippy graduated from McKinley High School in 1950 and attended Purdue University in 1950-1951 when he was drafted into the Army at the age of 20. He valued this service and attained the rank of 1st Sergeant.
Skippy is survived by his devoted wife of 71 years, Iwalani. He was a very loving father to 3 daughters, Patricia “Lani” DuPonte, Katherine “Kat” Tumale, and Wendy (Bruce) Medeiros. He was also a loving grandpa to 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
A committal service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 20, 2022 at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery Pavilion in Kaneohe, Hawaii.
