He is survived by wife, Roseline Swaney son, Russell Jr.; brothers, John, Norman, Ralph and Larry Swaney; sisters, Ruthie Ogletree, Wava Mitchel, MaryJane Ausberger and Judy Craig; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 5, 2013 at Borthwick Mortuary, Mauka Chapel, 1330 Maunakea Street, Honolulu, Hawaii 96817. Visitation will be from 5:30p.m. to 9:00p.m. Services will be at 6:30p.m. Inurnment will be on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at 9:30a.m. at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, 2177 Puowaina Drive, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813. Casual attire. Flowers welcome.
