

Conrad Albert Seymour, highly respected and adored husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, went to be with our Lord on Monday, January 19, 2015. With several loving family members by his side, he passed peacefully at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC.
Mr. Seymour was born in Norfolk, VA on December 22, 1930 to the late Conrad Albert and Margaret Palmer Seymour. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife and best friend of 63 years, Ann Jennette Seymour.
Conrad joined the Army in 1947, and eventually retired as a multiple war veteran. He saw much of the world and was awarded various medals during his tour of duty, including: the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Army Commendation, Good Conduct (5), Armed Forces Expeditionary, National Defense Service, and 3 Vietnam Service medals. After his retirement from the Army, he held a civilian job at Dupont in Fayetteville, NC until he was able to retire. While not working, he enjoyed battling with King Mackerel on the open sea.
He is survived by 5 children: Connie Cummings of E. Falmouth, MA; Johnnie Seymour of Hope Mills, NC; Steven Seymour of Grays Creek, NC; Conrad (Sonny) Seymour III of Hope Mills, NC; and Margaret Gauthier of St. Pauls, NC. He is also survived by two four-legged children: Mia and Molly. He was adored by 3 beautiful daughter-in-laws: Kathy Seymour, Christine Seymour, and Donna Seymour. He was respected by 2 grateful son-in-laws: Bob Cummings and Donald Gauthier.
Mr. Seymour, known better as “Grandpa”, leaves 10 grandchildren: Michelle, Christie, Tony, Johnnie Jr., Melissa, Steven, Chassity, SGT Lucas, Julie, and Crystal; and 14 great-grandchildren: Mackenzie, Jackson, Brynlynn, Connor, Bradley, Phillip, Khloe, Kelsey, Elijah, Keyara, Nikolas, Camron, Jonathan, and Jasmine.
Conrad spent his life fighting for our country and building his own stateside. With such a sizable family to carry on his memory, we’ll never be able to fill his heroic loafers.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Reeves Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 pm Friday, January 23, 2015 in Reeves Funeral Home Chapel.
