Born in New Orleans, Louisiana on April 8, 1936, she was the product of a large, happy Italian American family. She was a warm hostess, a skilled cook and an accomplished pianist. If asked her profession, she would answer with one word: mother.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Joan & Peter Davio of Hope Mills; Diane & Glenn Thrush of Kensington, Md., and Jaymie & Salvadore Webber of Davidson, N.C.
She was the proud grandmother of five wonderful children: Mark & Michelle Davio, Christian Webber, and Nathaniel & Charles Thrush.
She was predeceased in 1994 by her husband of 27 years, William B. Webber.
She is mourned by two surviving brothers, John Salvadore Grego, Jr. and Dominic Joseph Mancuso, and by her sisters-in-law, Aimee Grego and Pat Mancuso. She is beloved by many nieces and nephews, as well as grand-nieces and grand-nephews, and even one great-grand-nephew, Luke, whom she was so pleased to meet in New Orleans last year.
She will be remembered as a wonderful friend and neighbor by many in Fayetteville, including those who knew her for decades and those who met her only briefly
A funeral Mass is scheduled for 9 a.m., Friday, March 22 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Main Post Cemetery. Flowers are welcome because she loved them and she loved spring. If a donation is preferred, please consider the Dance Theatre of Fayetteville. Prayers to Saint Joseph would honor her memory. She was devoted to him, and she died on his feast day.
