

He was born on June 29, 1947 in Sampson County to the late Jacob Aster "Sam" Spell and Lula Jane "Jimmy" Seals Spell and is preceded in death by his brothers Jay Spell and Danny Wendell Spell.
Glenn is remembered as a bright and gifted man who could easily master complicated tasks. He graduated from Midway High School in Dunn, where he was well known in the student government and other activities before graduating second in the Class of 1965. He then served in the United States Navy where he received training in computers, electronics, programming, and industrial control systems. He spent the remainder of his life in the Fayetteville area where he applied his Navy training, working as an electrician for Rohm & Haas, Piedmont Automation, Texfi Industries, National Linen Service, House of Raeford Farms, and Purolator.
Glenn leaves behind to mourn his passing a host of cousins and his special friends Michael and Linda Jernigan of Tallahassee, Florida, and Missy Brice of Raeford, who provided him with much needed help in recent years.
A memorial service to commemorate the life of Glennis "Glenn" Martin Spell will be conducted at 7:00 pm Friday, March 6, 2020 at Robert's Grove Church, 725 Robert's Grove Road, Dunn.
