James was retired from the US Army with 23 years of loyal service.
Funeral services will be Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 11 am at Reeves Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 10-11 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow the funeral service with full military honors at Cumberland Memorial Cemetery on Raeford Road, Fayetteville.
James was predeceased by his wife Edna Marie Jude and a son David Kane, Jr.
Those left to mourn his passing are children Linda Morrison (Lanny) of Hope Mills and Maryann Bonifant (Bruce) of Concord; stepdaughter/caregiver Carol Smith (Frank) of Hope Mills.
