Larry Monroe Coats, 73 of Dunn, died Friday May 27, 2016 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh He was born the son of the late Monroe and Virginia Wilkins Coats and is also preceded in death by 2 sons Larry M. Coats Jr. and Ernest M. Tart, and a daughter Cindy Coats. Larry was know for his skills as an Outboard Motor and Boat Mechanic but he also loved being outdoors whether it was working, fishing, hunting or riding four wheelers. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Elmore Coats of the home 4 daughters: Carol Naylor and husband Huey of Dunn, Patty Jackson and husband Billy of Roseboro, Emma Gomez and husband Lex of Charlotte and Veronica Gregory and husband Wade of Dunn 3 sons: James Patrick Coats and wife Michelle of Clayton, Bill Coats of Hope Mills, Dr. Joseph Tart and wife Veronica of Summerville A sister Margaret Stanley of Dunn 14 grandchildren A Graveside Funeral Service will be held Saturday May 28, 2016 at 3:00 pm in the Butler/Lee Cemetery off Meadowlark Rd. in Dunn.
