Linda Matthews Jones, 79, passed away Saturday, August 26, 2023 at home.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents Howard and Elma Matthews; her husband of 59 years Joe Gerald Jones; her sister Patricia Ann Dixon; and her brother Richard Matthews.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Susan Jones-Daleke of Godwin, NC, and Shannon Jones of Eastover, NC; and her sister Ellen Davis and husband Ray.
Linda was an exceptional person who had many hobbies, including tending to her flowers, reading, and cooking. She was a great cook but was also known to be a feisty lady who spoke her mind. She was also very observant of her surroundings, and enjoyed watching both the scenery and the people who passed by.
There will be a graveside service for Linda at Old Bluff Cemetery in Godwin, NC on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at 11 AM. Pastor Meg Lindsay Dudley Officiating.
