Margaret Seymour Pope, 68, of Parkton, North Carolina, passed away on May 9, 2026. She was born on August 17, 1957, in Germany, to Walter and Alice Seymour, and was the youngest of three children. As a young child, she moved with her family to Fayetteville, where the roots of her life and family would grow deep and enduring.
Margaret met Roger Pope when she was 14 years old, and they married when she turned 18. They shared 50 years of marriage—years marked by steadfast commitment, quiet strength, and a devotion that shaped the heart of their home. Together, they raised three children, who she absolutely cherished: Alisa Williams (Mark), Robin Brewley (Deon), and Roger Pope II (Suzanne).
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Mildred Lapp and Ernest Seymour; and her grandson, Andrew Stovall. She is survived by her husband, Roger Pope; her children; and her grandchildren, Katelynn Williams, Wesley Brewley, Peyton Pope, Brantley Knapp, Allie Brewley, and Ruby Brewley.
Those who knew Margaret remember a woman whose loyalty ran deep and whose generosity was expressed in countless, steady ways. She approached life with determination and a dependable spirit—someone others could count on, whether for thoughtful guidance, a carefully made plan, or simply the comfort of being truly heard. With an attentive presence and an honest heart, she had a gift for making people feel welcome and included, leaving others better for having been in her company.
Margaret found joy in the life she built with her family. She loved cruising, and her favorite was a Caribbean cruise shared with her entire family—an experience that reflected what mattered most to her: being together. She also loved riding motorcycles with her husband, embracing the open road with the same steady confidence she brought to everyday life. She took pride in her appearance and enjoyed visits to the hair and nail salon, and she found simple peace in bird watching. She dearly loved her dogs, Harley and Ollie, who were cherished companions.
A devoted presence in the lives of her children and grandchildren, Margaret was known for showing up—at sporting events and at every special occasion—offering encouragement, constancy, and love. She was happiest when spending time with her family, and that happiness was returned to her in the closeness she helped create and protect. Her legacy will live on through her children and grandchildren, who learned how to love and be loved simply by being their mom and Nana.
She was a member of Crosspointe Church, where she served on the FIT Team, greeting and welcoming visitors with warmth and sincerity—an extension of the gracious way she lived her life.Margaret also gave of herself beyond her home. In the early 2000s, she was a member of the Harley Owners Group.
Margaret’s legacy is one of devotion faithfully lived: a hardworking woman of integrity, an excellent planner with a steady hand, a good listener who made room for others, a great Mom, the best Nana, and the perfect wife to Roger. Her life will be remembered with deep respect and lasting gratitude by all who were blessed to know her.
