Marilyn was born in Ohio to Everette and Marylou Robison. She moved to Fayetteville, North Carolina in 1970. Marilyn lived a very fulfilling life; she was a very involved mother and wife, making sure to make it to every school activity, bringing cookies for all of the children. She enjoyed crafting with her husband, James Farrell, whose craftmanship was on the woodwork, while she made things pretty. Together they owned the Craft Market for five years and then Antiques and Uniques in Hope Mills for ten years. They made ornaments, wooden pole people, as well as countless other crafts.
Marilyn was also very involved with her community; she was president of Kiwanis, a proud AUSA member, a part of the Fayetteville Ad Club, and Treasurer of Fayetteville Aerial Advertisement. She also worked for the Fayetteville Observer, and Mary Kay.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, William Robison. She is survived by her husband, James; her son, Scott Tope (Diane); granddaughter, Tara Marie Portorreal (Jesse); a great-granddaughter, Isabel Portorreal; her sister, Patricia Edwards; her favorite cat, Smokey; and a host of many family and friends.
